Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, I am a fun, creative, and hardworking person with a drive towards creativity. Growing up, I have loved to create many forms of media. Ranging from filmmaking, photographing, or camera operating, I know my way around the camera.
Starting in 2016, I have had the love and passion surrounding video editing. As I entered Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California, I have grown to enjoy creation and have enhanced my skills in filmmaking and photography. What motivates me is the people and how they react to my creations. I enjoy watching my peers and others watch my films and that is the drive that makes me want to do more.
I have recently graduated from the University of California - Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film and Digital Media. During my time in Santa Cruz, I have learned how to become a leader and learned many different aspects of life. In 2021-22, I was the Banquet Coordinator for the Chinese Student Association, bringing to light a Lunar New Year Banquet for the university to enjoy. Two years later, I became to Co-Chair (Co-President) of CSA and from there I have learned how to lead others towards my vision, solve problems together, and mediate conflict whenever it arises.
Along the way, I began to enhance my knowledge in filmmaking and photography, allowing me to further think outside the box in how to make my videos and photos more appealing. In spring of 2019, my documentary, Journey to the Big Screen - An Asian's Route to Film, got selected into three film festivals. I have also spent a summer in Morocco in 2019, which allowed me to experience a completely new culture and a new perspective in the globe.
During university as well, I learned how to edit and film different forms of video media, ranging from social media videos, documentaries, narrative films, skits, and educational films. Between 2022 and 2024, I worked as a Video Assistant Producer and Editor for the UCSC Admissions Department, working with others to promote UCSC to the high school seniors to not only apply to the campus but commit through marketing campaigns and social media.
As I leave college, I have recently taken up a seasonal job as a photographer for GradImages in April 2024, and from there I have begun to really learn the ways of photography and strive to become a better photographer.
I am excited for the new chapter in life and I am ready to take on the world with the knowledge I have learned in my life. If you are looking for someone for your company and/or brand, please reach out to me at kennethng52@yahoo.com for more info or a resume!
